POSITION

As a member of the BCG Digital Ventures Design team you will be passionate about consumer behaviour, curious about the world around you and are at the forefront of new thinking and techniques.

Using your core skills in qualitative and quantitative requirements gathering techniques you are responsible for understanding the user needs, motivations and behaviours.  You have experience in understanding and identifying unmet requirements, turning these findings into actionable user/product goals and developing clear requirements that aid the innovation process. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will help to develop innovative website and application concepts that will add real consumer value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements gathering

  • work with senior designers to develop the user requirements gathering methodologies for each project;
  • work with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative requirements gathering techniques;
  • gather requirements, primarily through ethnography, in depth interviews and community moderation;
  • use a combination of intrusive (interview) and non-intrusive (observational) requirements gathering techniques;
  • solution testing through, remote testing, eye tracking, testing mobile interfaces, card sorting, survey evaluation, A/B and multivariate testing, and heuristic evaluations;
  • analysis and synthesis of large scale qualitative data sets to identify key requirements;
  • work with senior designers to present requirements concisely and effectively to high profile clients;
  • experience of conducting requirements analysis across both B2B and B2C environments;
  • present requirements findings in innovative ways to inspire and inform your team.

Solution design and development

  • develop personas, scenarios and experience maps to guide the website design process;
  • take responsibility for high-level web design concepts, as well as consulting on detailed delivery through to implementation;
  • work as part of a cross-disciplinary team to develop website and application concepts – with strong value propositions;
  • engage in workshops and co-creation sessions using a series of innovative and engaging techniques;
  • be part of pitch teams presenting back website concepts within the DV Shark Tank;
  • design user journeys and scenarios to describe how the proposed website/application will work
  • design key screens and functionality to inform the site design;
  • user test the proposed solution for effectiveness and usability.

Strategy

  • innovation/trend:  Keep abreast of cultural, creative, and technological news and developments;
  • audience: add new insight to the existing profile of clients’ audiences - digital behaviours and device ownership/usage as well as geodemogs, psychodemogs, etc.
  • business & marketplace: work with BCG Digital Ventures consultants to ensure that future concepts are checked for operational and technical feasibility.

EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have the following mandatory requirements:

  • experience in strategic design - through HCI, research, industrial design, requirements engineering or consumer psychology
  • excellent and experienced interviewer and requirements engineer;
  • proven experience in B2B and B2C across US and European market;
  • proven experience turning interview findings into clear and actionable requirements;
  • ability to clearly and visually present key insights;
  • workshop planning and moderation skills;
  • proven experience designing designing and presenting web concepts.

Desirable technical skills:

  • adobe illustrator
