We serious about safety. This is a position of responsibility on a top-tier COMAH site. The successful candidate will manage and supervise safe operations on a busy bulk terminal handling flammable liquids. Based in Cadishead, Irlam and reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a key position in the site strategy.

As part of the site management team working a regular, rotating pattern of Office hours, AM & PM shifts, there will be an occasional but foreseen requirement to work out of hours on bulk shipping operations.

The role will involve varied duties focused on terminal safety and operational excellence. Working closely with the senior manager on site you will support improvement projects and ensure high standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

During a period of training & orientation the successful candidate will need to earn the trust of the site manager and their colleagues. Once established, using prior & newly obtained experience, skills and knowledge, he or she will be expected to:

+ Supervise hazardous site activity (incl. bulk road tanker and ship-to-shore transfer)
+ Manage production blending, packing and filling of solvents
+ Take active roles in emergency preparedness and response 
+ Control contractor activity using SSOW
+ Participate in COMAH reporting and regulatory inspections 
+ Communicate well with everyone in the organisational structure
+ Lead your team, including absence management and discipline
+ Exercise prudent cost control and thorough KPI monitoring and lean principles
+ Execute accident and incident investigations to company standards. 
+ Uphold high standards of 5s Auditing and general housekeeping
+ Contribute to site improvement actions
+ Develop, empower and lead direct and indirect reports

Experience of significant material or process hazards is an advantage. It is a requirement of the role to hold or eventually achieve a NEBOSH NGC & PFSO status.
