Our Digital Support Specialists ensure communication keeps flowing by managing, delivering and installing communications infrastructure to the battlefield and military bases. And, while doing so, they gain qualifications, experiences and a few friends along the way.

Our Digital Support Specialists are there whenever and wherever we need them. Whether it's on base, in the battlefield or in a civilian crisis, we rely on Digital Support Specialists to transport and install power and lighting systems wherever needed. Whether you're responsible for delivering the infrastructure and maintaining inventory or working as an engineer, this is a role full of excitement, responsibility and rewards.


WORLD-CLASS TRAINING

Basic training will teach you soldier skills, like how to survive outdoors and fire weapons. The training will also develop your fitness before you progress at the Royal School of Signals. After your basic training, you'll start learning the specialist skills, you need to excel in your role. And, once you finish Phase 2 training, you'll be ready for all the exciting new adventures about to come your way.


GAIN QUALIFICATIONS
The Army will pay for you to gain valuable qualifications. These could include:

  • Foundation Modern Apprenticeship
  • A variety of driving licences
  • NVQ Level 2 in IT
  • Level 1 European Computer Driving Licence (units 1, 2, 3 and 7)
  • Carriage of Hazardous Materials licence
  • City & Guilds Basic Engineering Competencies, Engineering Systems Maintenance, Management of Electrical Equipment Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and Electrical Installation
  • Key Skills in Application of Numbers, Information and Communication Technology
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical)
