VACANCY: Senior Rents Officer
BRC are pleased to announce we have a temporary Senior Rents Officer with a large Housing provider in central Bristol, to start as soon as possible for a 6 month contract. The role's hours are part time at 25 hours per week, and are worked between a Monday and Friday. The skills required for this role commands a payrate of up to ??14.00 per hour Limited.
The Senior Rents Officer role involves undertaking the following duties:
- Carry out high level rent and other arrears recovery action on current tenants in line with the legislation, policies and procedures (from the service of a notice and legal action up to and including eviction) ensuring every effort is made to meet service standards and achieve any personal targets set.
- Monitor current tenants arrears performance for a specified area taking a proactive approach to the management of individual rent arrears cases including taking preventative measure to stop arrears from escalating.
- Make and maintain contact with tenants to negotiate realistic payment arrangements through the use of home visits (including outside normal working hours where necessary) and area office interviews.
The successful Senior Rents Officer would ideally have a good knowledge of Rent collections within Social Housing, and good current knowledge and experience in working with welfare and benefits and Universal Credits. The successful candidate ideally needs strong experience with IT, and use of the Northgate package is preferable. As the role is telephone based, the role doesn`t need a car driver.
