Project Officer (Volunteering)

NDCS Birmingham

£24,941–£29,534 per annum

35 hours per week

Fixed term contract to 31 March 2017

Do you have excellent project management skills and volunteer management experience? NDCS is looking for an experienced project officer to join our dynamic volunteer team at an exciting time of change as we prepare to implement our new corporate strategy 2017-22. Working closely with managers and staff, you will provide direct support to our Youth Support Volunteer programme by selecting and inducting volunteers to work on events supervising deaf children and young people. You will also be responsible for coordinating a range of projects to help us manage volunteers across the UK at a time of growth and change for the organisation. The role includes interviewing and inducting volunteers, and supporting training activities, to comply with Ofsted and the Care Inspectorate, as well as helping us continually improve and adapt how we work.

The successful applicant will be an excellent project officer with the ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with staff and volunteers. You will need to work with volunteers and teams across the UK, to enable them to meet the needs of deaf children and young people at events and improve the services we offer. You will be well organised and able to work in a team to manage a busy workload. The ability to process large volumes of data is critical, together with excellent attention to detail.
