We have a new exciting opportunity at West Suffolk Councils for a Service Manager (Housing Options) to come and join our team. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a highly competitive salary of up to £48,154 per annum plus essential car user allowance.

West Suffolk Councils have a reputation for being forward-looking and innovative. Having created a fully shared workforce serving two councils in 2013, we have used system-thinking to create new, integrated ways of working within the councils and with partners. Our focus is now on becoming more self-sufficient, with increasingly commercial behaviours and taking opportunities for income generation. In the meantime, we continue to support our local families, communities and businesses, and deliver high quality services.

About the Service Manager role

Can you give clear direction to a team working in a pressured service area with confidence and conviction; thrive on pressure and constant change, work across boundaries and find solutions when the future is not prescribed and may change?

With Housing being one of the Councils’ three strategic priorities, an exciting opportunity has arisen within West Suffolk’s Senior Management Team for a specialist Service Manager role in Housing Options.

You will be responsible for managing a team of specialist housing and homelessness officers focused on prevention, with a philosophy of putting the customer first, providing effective and targeted support, advice and assistance to those with a housing need.

What we’re looking for in our Service Manager

With an appropriate relevant qualification and background in housing options you will be able to demonstrate effective leadership and operational management.  An emotionally intelligent individual, who is able to gasp new concepts quickly, embrace change and who thrives under pressure is essential.

In return as our Service Manager, we can offer you…

In addition we can offer contributory pension scheme, performance related pay progression, child care vouchers, cycle to work scheme, employee discount package, generous annual leave and flexible working schemes and a range of wellbeing initiatives.

If you would like to take part in this fantastic opportunity and become our new Service Manager then please click ‘apply’ today – don’t miss out, we’d love to hear from you!
