R&D Technician Graduate or Experienced

I am looking for a Hardware Engineering Technician to join a pioneer in force measurement solutions. You will be working within a hardware electronics team across analogue and digital design for very well-known customers requiring generic or bespoke engineered solutions.

This vacancy has arisen from continued expansion within the company and is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to challenge himself and develop a long term career in Electronic Engineering.

The candidates the role will focus & specialise in the following areas:-

• PCB CAD Library Management and supporting Schematic & PCB Layout Designs and longer term plan to expand new EDA & Simulation CAD tools towards Right First Time Engineering concept.
• EMC Test and Validation including supporting both Pre and Compliance Testing at a range of certified legal metrology, EMC & Environmental test houses UK & Europe.
• Electronics prototype assembly, test debug & verification.
• Support the development of new engineering apprentices.
• Work with mechanical and load cell engineers to ensure 2D & 3D CAD data is utilised between systems for correct fit and assembly.
• Support new product transfer to overseas engineering and production operations.

Essential Skills;

• Qualified to a Min of HNC/HND or equivalent level in electronics principles
• Understanding of Design practices for good Design for EMC approach.
• Proficient in MS Office tools and MS Project.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
• Hold a EU Passport & driving licence available to support occasional overseas business travel

Desirable Skills;

• Electronics Engineering design experience in similar environment
• CAD Schematic & PCB Design experience for mid to high volume production
• Assist in definition and implementation of product tests in-house and customer's sites
• Understanding of load cells in weighing applications, EN45501/OIML R76
• Experience of working with suppliers, manufacturers & toolmakers to clarify design requirements

This role is open to candidates with experience or graduates. My client is offering a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience. The role offers 36 days holiday and health-care scheme on completion of probation.
