Head of IT Solutions - Bristol/home and travel- ??60 - 75k + 10% bonus + car allowance, family healthcare, + pension Leading engineering company is actively recruiting for an experienced Head of IT solutions who understands business strategies, requirements and can support their transplantation into IT strategies and solutions. The successful Head of IT Solutions / Solutions Manager will undertake the following responsibilities: work with the business to identify new opportunities for innovation that supports its strategic direction and goals both in the UK and internationallySupport Business Development activities, capture high level requirements and provide innovative solutions that enable best practice delivery of IT services for current and future customersDocument Business Requirements across the engineering, training and asset management environment. Critically review and prioritise the work load of the Business Solution Mangers and maintain the IT pipeline of future projectsSupport the IT Director in the development of a coherent Divisional IT Strategy Provide solution support to any key business development or significant (high value) bid activitiesIdentify, maintain, support and exploit emerging technologies of strategic importance to the businessActively seek to maximize and optimize the IT services and value offered to our customersWork closely with the Head of Project and Governance to ensure that IT solutions are transitioned seamlessly from pipeline to deliveryWork closely with the Head of Project and Governance to manage the utilization and prioritization of Business Analysts in support of solution development activities Development of ROM costs for IT solutionsDrive IT costs savings through solution development and delivery (where possible and appropriate)Support the BUs in the development of their IT StrategiesCreate innovative IT solutions in support of Bids and BAU activity across the capability domains, in the UK and internationallyProduce monthly Solution and Innovation updates and status reportsManage the utilisation and prioritisation of Solution Mangers to ensure maximum value Defined Technology and Innovation RoadmapDefined solution pipeline (fully integrated with the Project Portfolio) The successful Head of IT Solutions / Solutions Manager will ideally have: Detailed knowledge of emerging technologies within the Engineering, Training and Asset Management environment both within the UK and internationallyBroad experience in innovation and exploitation of new technologies to create new products and market opportunities Broad based technical knowledge of applications and systems including the use of web based and mobile solutions and social mediaProven ability to fully understand the needs of the business and successfully translate them into IT strategies and requirementsBroad experience of articulating complex challenges and issues in a constantly changing environment.Experience of working within a large business change programme and the ability to champion change with end usersExperience in managing multiple stakeholders and prioritising solution support activity accordinglyAble to operate as a member of the IT Senior Leadership Team, contributing to a wide range of commercial issues to provide joint outcomes Significant experience in presenting to clients at a senior management level
