Excellent Opportunity for an aspiring Sales or Business development professional to join a FTSE100 organisation on an initial fixed term contract.

About The Education Broker:

The Education Broker is part of Capita Plc, and is a market-leading provider of Staff Absence Insurance (SAI) to schools across England & Wales.

We provide staff absence insurance protection to hundreds of schools across England and Wales. Our team of specialist consultants can help schools find insurance solutions that meet their individual needs.

SAI helps schools to protect their budgets against the cost of staff sickness. Thousands buy, but we are keen to increase that number.

The vast majority of schools buy SAI on 1st April, meaning we have a very busy 'peak season' between January and March inclusive, which is why we recruit an enthusiastic sales / business development professional to help drive business strategy during this period.

The role may become permanent for the right candidate.

Job Purpose:

The Consultant will be responsible for calling all schools assigned to you by the sales team leader.

Major responsibilities:

Making calls to schools, to clarify if they would like to receive our quotes for Staff Absence Insurance (training provided*);

For those prospective clients, gathering the relevant data including absence histories;

Inputting that data into our customer management system;

Briefing the team leader with a summary of gathered information from prospective clients;

Leaving the listener with a great view of The Education Broker regardless of outcome;

May occasionally be required to do ad-hoc administrative duties;

Directing inbound calls to the appropriate member of staff as necessary.

*We cannot train motivation. Self-starting callers are essential.

Essential experience / qualities:

5 GCSE passes including Maths and English - Grade C (or equivalent);

Commercially focused with a strong work ethic;

Good grammar, telephone manner and communication skills;

Self-motivation when not managed 1-2-1;

Enjoys working in a team environment.

Highly desirable skills / experience:

Promptness (lateness is not tolerated);

Experience of up-selling over the phone or providing customer service;

Previous Sales or Business Development experience.
