Under the care of MHA, who took it over in that year, it has grown to its current capability of 33 residents.Originally designed for women only, the first matron of Stratton House was quoted as saying: 'We are all women in the house, except for the grandfather clock - and he doesn't give us any trouble.' The grandfather clock still stands in pride of place in the main hallway. By the later 1970s the home had 28 residents, many of them over 90. In the early 1980s further development was undertaken, creating the elegant and calm environment that exists today.Located in a leafy suburban setting, the home hosts beautifully kept grounds of its own and just across the road is Bath's extensive Royal Victoria Park, which stretches below the city's famous Royal Crescent.For more information about the home please visit here .
