Automation Engineer (Wonderware)

Our client's customers range from exciting small R&D product development companies to UK's leading blue chip companies and process contractors.

They are very active in the Utilities, Water, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Nuclear sectors.

The Package

£35000 - £45000 per annum

The Role

Our client is looking for high calibre self-starters, control and automation professionals, capable of operating at high level within their company.

This role requires an understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.

This includes the development of Design Documentation, configuration of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, Testing and commissioning.

Our client's project solutions are typically based on Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Wonderware, Schneider and various legacy technologies.

They are renowned for their attention to detail and delivering the right solution.

Activities include:

+ Design documentation

+ Control system software design and implementation

+ Control system hardware design

+ Electrical control panel design (not essential)

+ Liaison with clients

+ Work as part of a team or alone with senior guidance as required

+ Participating in the tendering process

+ Report writing and surveying

+ Industrial Ethernet network design and testing

+ Factory acceptance test specification documentation

+ Client facing factory acceptance testing

+ Generation of risk assessments and method statements

+ Onsite installation, testing and process commissioning

+ Training documentation

+ Operation and maintenance documentation

+ Maintain good client relations throughout the project lifecycle

+ Management of subcontractors

Skills/Qualifications

+ Degree in a relevant IT or engineering subject and member of the relevant engineering bodies.

+ 5 or more years control system design experience in a similar role.

+ Have high intellect and potentials to evolve within the company.

+ Good written and communication skills

+ Good interpersonal skills

+ Possess an interest in industrial control and automation
