In this role you will be owning and managing the day-to-day and development agenda for Sainsbury's Bank Loans trading. This is a highly commercial role. You will be significantly contributing to the achievement of all the business goals for Sainsbury's Bank Loans by optimising value creation across channels with specific focus on pricing and profitability.

You'll be:

A key contributor to the development of Loans Strategy Delivering of the P&L and delivery of Sales, Retention, Income, Cost & Contribution lines. In particular, delivering the income targets set out in the business plan Owning the development of competitor intelligence and translate into commercial advantage that drives improvements in business performance and profitability Being a key contributor to the 5 year plan via reforecast process, challenging stakeholders to drive an optimal result Setting & delivering stretching market share targets by segments, identify areas of opportunity where we under-perform in the market and work with key stakeholders to build a plan to remedy Owning the pricing of the Loans product range, balancing delivery of multiple objectives (lending, return, risk), and making informed judgements in terms of the competitive environment Owning the interlock for Loans with all Stakeholders (Monthly, Quarterly & Reforecast), ensuring appropriate support is in place to deliver the plan & business objectives Understanding deeply, providing robust monitoring, and driving optimal and profitable Channel performance to deliver and exceed plan. Identifying areas of opportunity where we under-perform in the market and work with key stakeholders to build a plan to remedy Delivering & optimising Profitability on new business (NPVs & RRRs), delivering the APR on new lending & retention & optimise of RBP. All within the bounds of an appropriate conduct environment with fair outcomes for customers Supporting migration for Loans. Work with partners to scope requirements and testing Leading, motivating, developing and appraising Commercial and Pricing team so that their performance is of the required level.

You'll bring:

Significant experience in financial services in product/commercial management, risk management, management information or customer analysis. Good knowledge and understanding of retail credit products Knowledge of financial environment with excellent analytical skills - highly numerate Some form of educational qualification (educated to degree level at minimum level 2:1 or relevant professional qualification) Commercial acumen, with strong financial & return / value creation understanding Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team Well organised and able to prioritise multiple pressing priorities and work effectively under pressure Customer focused, with an ability to understand customer need and build compelling & profitable customer propositions Exceptional relationship management skills with an ability to challenge and drive high performance from stakeholders Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, e.g. able to translate complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level Preferable to have experience of leading / managing a team.
