A well-established charity that helps ex-offenders and disadvantaged people to move their lives forward, St. Giles Trust offers support to help people overcome any issue that might be holding them back. Our Welsh office is working on an ESF/SFA funded project called ‘Working Out’ that provides skills and support for disadvantaged families in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The project has been designed to make a significant contribution to tackling poverty and social exclusion by increasing the employability of economically inactive and long-term unemployed people who have complex barriers to employment. It's here that we need your help.

What you will be doing:

  • Recruiting, engaging, training and supporting individuals to achieve QCF Level 3 in Advice and Guidance and helping them progress onto further opportunities.
  • Designing, planning and delivering a training programme, maintaining and developing work placement opportunities, matching learners to placements and building positive relationships with placement hosts.
  • Assessing and supporting learners through the qualification and monitoring their progress towards timely completion and certification.
  • Organising service level agreements, liaising with the Trust’s internal quality assurers to ensure compliance with standards and supporting peer advisors and volunteers attached to the project.
  • Undertaking administration to track learner progress and maintaining and updating relevant records.

And what you will need:

  • Ideally, (although unqualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered) a Level 3 Advice & Guidance and/or teaching qualification and/or TAQA or other assessor award.
  • A flexible and collaborative approach and a proven ability to apply creativity to planning programmes and activities and adopt a range of approaches.
  • An awareness of the issues faced by the client group, the barriers they face in accessing and sustaining learning and employment opportunities and how to overcome them.
  • Experience of setting up and running systems to monitor and report on progress and recording information and statistics to enable the effective monitoring of performance against targets.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency using a case databases, an understanding of quality assurance as it relates to training vulnerable adults and familiarity with ESTYNED requirements.

  • Asesu a chefnogi dysgwyr drwy’r cymhwyster a monitro eu cynnydd tuag at gwblhau’r cymhwyster yn brydlon a chael tystysgrif
  • Trefnu cytundebau lefel gwasanaeth, cysylltu â swyddogion sicrwydd ansawdd mewnol yr Ymddiriedolaeth i sicrhau y cydymffurfir â safonau a chefnogi cyd gynghorwyr a gwirfoddol sy’n gysylltiedig â’r prosiect.
  • Gwneud gwaith gweinyddol i olrhain cynnydd y dysgwyr a chynnal a diweddaru cofnodion perthnasol.
