Decommissioning Project Manager - Offshore Assets

GBP55-70k plus package

Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Project Manager with a demonstrable track record in scoping out and delivering decommissioning projects within the On and Offshore Oil & Gas Sector to join there team and drive forward this capability.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows -

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of decommissioning strategies and development of solutions
  • Day to day people management responsibility, engaging and motivating staff and challenging the team to identify and exploit best opportunities aligned to strategies
  • Undertake business development activities as required
  • Participate in Industry Forums and assess industry data pertaining to decommissioning and new technologies eg Oil & Gas UK Work groups, Decom North Sea and other relevant groups
  • Coordinate the activities of decommissioning teams, contractors, vendors and specialists, agreeing their priorities and objectives
  • Remain current with regards to legislative requirements and decommissioning practices
  • Provide support to Projects, Finance, Commercial and Legal colleagues for all decommissioning related activities
  • Coordinate the preparation and issue of Pre-qualification, Invitation to Tender, Evaluation and Contract Documents
  • Assist in the development, management and coordination of decommissioning cost estimates, cost reviews and spend forecasting
  • Proactively manage interface with external partners and contractors, in areas including: Compliance Management, Well Plugging and Abandonment, Hydrocarbon Removal, Platform Shutdown, Removal Preparations, Stakeholder engagement etc

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Degree qualified Engineer or Project Manager with relevant recent experience in a decommissioning role within an Operator or Contractor organisation
  • Strong project management skills, circa 10 years experience - planning, cost, controls etc
  • Broad based technical knowledge with relevant experience working in a decommissioning role within an Operator or Contractor organisation
  • Understanding of the process and activities involved with decommissioning
  • Experience or understanding of marine operations and logistics
  • Understanding of the planning and regulatory obligations and requirements associated with decommissioning - ability to identify and drive efficiency's in this sector
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Front End design is essential for this role
  • Familiarity of platform operations and working practices
  • Ability to manage all aspects of decommissioning offshore Oil & Gas Facilities
  • Ability to gain and maintain UK SC level clearance
