Description of the Business Line or Department

The UK based Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team implements the CSR strategy across all Group companies in the UK. The Bank aims to have a positive impact on its local communities, striving to raise educational aspirations, improve employability prospects and build stronger communities. The Programme Manager role will lead on our charitable giving programme, charity partnerships, fundraising initiatives and reporting.

Summary of responsibilities

Community Investment
Oversee the UK charitable giving programmes and associated partnerships, developing the fundraising strategy, initiatives and procedures.
Manage a 2-year Charity of the Year partnership, currently with Mind, ensuring fundraising targets and all partnership objectives are met.
Oversee all budgeting, forecasting and processing of charitable giving donations as well as contracts with external suppliers.
Project manage agreed fundraising events and campaigns from start to finish including all planning, logistics, legalities and working with external suppliers.
Promote annual calendar of opportunities, manage employee stewardship and develop new fundraising avenues.
Develop staff engagement opportunities with the Charity of the Year; including the creation and management of volunteering opportunities and awareness raising campaigns.
Support teams and offices across the UK to design and deliver fundraising initiatives.
Manage relationships with key community partners including schools, charities and social enterprises.
Organise, communicate and broker various volunteering placements including primary pupil partner schemes, employability workshops, mentoring, work placements and teambuilding projects.
Support the UK's participation in the Global Citizenship programmes.
Help to develop and roll out an evaluation and impact measurement framework.

Responsible for managing SG's internal CSR database tool including functionality development, data entry and reporting.
Oversee all collation and analysis of CSR data, producing regular reports for senior management and CSR reporting.
Process all matched giving requests from employees and charitable donations.
Administration of SG UK Group Charitable Trust budget, income and charity payments.
Manage collection, analysis and input of data for Societe Generale's annual global reporting process.

Assist in the management of internal CSR networks, including tri-annual meetings, ongoing communications and development of materials.
Support Head of CSR in day to day management of the SG UK Group Charitable Trust and present charitable giving data at tri-annual meetings.
Write and develop communication materials to promote CSR initiatives and successes where required.
Develop close working relationships with a variety of internal teams such as Communications, HR, Facilities and Legal.
Build internal networks through attending forums, presentations and meetings.
Represent CSR at internal and external events. Deliver CSR presentations and updates as required.
Account manage relationships with selected UK business entities and internal departments.
Contribute to ongoing review of CSR strategy, delivery and operational effectiveness.
Involvement in wider CSR forums and projects as required.

Knowledge, interest and commitment to the CSR/Community Investment field.
Previous experience in a similar corporate/charitable role.
Accomplished project manager with experience of managing CSR/charitable events and programmes, particularly fundraising.
Exceptional communicator, skilled at engaging and motivating employees at all levels.
Expertise in managing databases, analysing data and producing reports.
Excellent organisation skills, ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Strong people person, gifted at building relationships and networks with a variety of audiences.
Creative, resourceful and uses own initiative.
Self-sufficient as well as a key team player.


Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent, degrees with relevant Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability or Community Investment content desirable.
