Mechanical Design Engineer - South Bristol
Designing enclosures for controllers. Catia or Solidworks or Inventor - 3D.
Material testing to support thermal management product development (controller enclosure design, thermal materials testing, developing and running test rigs.
Specification and design of sub assemblies
Cost reduction activities on existing common assemblies
Design calculations in support of design (hand and basic FEA)
Type testing of equipment and subsystems
Reliability testing. Report Writing. Preparation of technical construction documents
Creation of Bill of Materials. Development of test specifications
Components selection. Engineering Change.
Support to NPI, Ops and Apps Suppor
CAD - SolidWorks or/ Catia / Inventor 3D modelling and an element of design drafting.
Experience of working on a system or equipment design / development environment preferred
Understanding of Piping and instrumentation diagrams and system schematics
Experience of FMEA, HAZOP, DFMEA and other design and risk analysis techniques
