Position: Part-time Finance Assistant
Location: Working from home, but you must be based in the Gloucester area
Job Type: Part-time, maternity cover contract
Hours: 30 hours per week over 4 days per week
Salary: ??21k to ??25k pro rata
Benefits: 28 days' holidays per annum pro-rated for part-time hours; season ticket loan, gym membership contribution, cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers and private medical cover - after one year of service

ROLE:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to provide maternity cover for the Finance Assistant. This cover is needed from early December 2016 for roughly a 12 month period with the potential of becoming permanent as the finance function grows within Alpha. The candidate needs to be based in Gloucester or surrounding areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

??? Accurate invoice production for their UK office with all relevant expenses recharged
??? Accurate coding and customer invoice allocation in Sage
??? Supplier invoices correctly allocated on Sage by nominal account and project
??? Ensuring that associate supplier invoices comply with their associate expense policy
??? Supplier payments correctly allocated on Sage by supplier and bank
??? Reconcile and process employee expense claims in accordance with their team expense policy
??? Ensure VAT is correctly accounted for on all Sage entries
??? Credit control and escalation where necessary
??? Credit card and petty cash reconciliation
??? Monthly reconciliation of the accruals and prepayments schedule
??? Monthly production and processing of the department journal to ensure that costs are correctly allocated
??? Maintaining the fixed asset register and ensure assets listed are still in use and if not are correctly disposed of in the accounts
??? Accurate year end depreciation posting
??? Maintaining the Sales Order spreadsheet and ensuring all PBFs are correctly allocated
??? Reconciling invoices issued against the Programme Management tracker to ensure that all courses are invoiced
??? Work with Finance Director with regards to the year-end accounts and resolving any queries resulting from this

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

??? Excellent knowledge and experience in Sage Accounts Professional and MS Office especially Excel and Word
??? Experience in a finance function and studied (or actively studying to complete) either AAT or ACCA exams
??? Attention to detail
??? Able to manage workflow, prioritise, multitask and work under pressure
??? Professional manner, and ability to influence diverse stakeholders to produce content to a deadline
??? Ability to work quickly to tight deadlines and maintain a high standard of output
??? Able to take direction and use own initiative
??? Must have a 'can do' attitude and actively seek to support the team wherever possible
