Oxford Innovation's Business and Innovation Centres division operates a network of centres that provide flexible office and laboratory space and business support services to companies throughout the UK. Our clients are start-ups, high growth SMEs, investors and also public sector organisations that contract with us to deliver innovation centres and programmes to business. In the past three years we have nearly doubled our number of centres and now manage over twenty centres across the UK for a variety of public and private sector clients, providing space and support to nearly 1000 exciting, innovative and growing companies.

We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic and friendly Centre Support Assistant to be part of the team wi thin the new Future Space Innovation Centre that was constructed by the University of the West of England, Bristol. This new centre is over 40,000m2 in size, provide facilities for over 70 companies and includes some workshop and wet laboratory space. It is expected to primarily house companies working in the following sectors; robotics and autonomous systems, biotechnology, medtech, assisted living, digital healthcare, cleantech, product design and related sectors; so experience in these areas would be key.

Our Centre Support Assistants play a key role as the front line of the Centre, running the busy Reception area, meeting and greeting visitors, making sure that the conference rooms are set up and manning the switchboard. No two days are the same and you will enjoy the chance to work with lots of different people in a varied, fast-moving environment.

The most important thing we look for in our Centre Support Assistants is a willingness to go the extra mile to deliver a great customer service. The following skills and experience are also important!

  • Multi-tasking in a busy and demanding customer focused environment.
  • Positive attitude/self-motivated.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Takes pride in personal appearance.
  • An eye for detail, along with good a working knowledge of Word and Excel desirable.
  • Enjoys developing self and learning both informally and formally.
  • Administration / Customer Service / Receptionist experience will be helpful.
  • Managing the Centre web page, twitter and facebook accounts so the use of social media accounts and a creative flair is desirable.
