A new role has been created for an HR Manager to work in the HR Team in our Cornish Offices (Truro and St Austell).

This is a full time role working 9am - 5.15pm Monday to Friday.  You will be required to spend half the week in our Truro office and half the week in our St Austell office, subject to flexibility depending on the demands of the business.  You will also be expected to attend the Exeter office on an occasional basis, and you may be required to work outside of normal office hours as and when the business requires.   

The Role:

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Human Resources, and will be responsible for providing a  high quality HR service to employees and senior stakeholders in our Cornish offices, including in particular, recruitment & selection, talent management, employee relations issues, absence management, reward and remuneration, and HR Software support. You will also be responsible for developing wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives in the Cornish offices. 

About You:

The successful candidate will have worked as an HR Manager for a minimum of 2 years, or an HR Officer for a minimum of 5 years, ideally in a professional services firm.  You will have experience of managing or supporting all aspects of the HR mix, including recruitment & selection, talent management, employee relations, training & development, reward and remuneration, and have a good up to date understanding of employment law.  You will also have project management experience and ideally, you will have experience of using an HR Software package. 

You will have a full and busy workload, so you will need to be able to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure, be very proactive and take initiative, be flexible and adaptable in your approach, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  You will need to demonstrate the ability to persuade and influence senior stakeholders, and provide coaching and guidance to Team Leaders. Key to this role is confidentiality, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously. 

You will also need to provide sold administrative and systems support so you will be proficient in all areas of ICT.

You will be full or part CIPD qualified, and ideally have experience of working in a law firm.
