Winchburgh Primary is a non-denominational primary school serving Winchburgh village and the surrounding rural community. The school is part of the Linlithgow Academy cluster and works very closely with its cluster schools to continually seek to improve and develop the learning experiences of all pupils.
At present, the school roll is 144 pupils in addition to a nursery provision for 40 children in the morning and 30 children in the afternoon.
The staff consists of the head teacher, two Acting Principal teachers, eight class teachers, a part-time Support for Learning teacher, three Nursery Nurses and a visiting Art teacher specialist who works one day a week. The school has visiting specialists for brass and woodwind instruction one day per week for pupils from primary 5 to primary 7. There are five pupil support workers who support learners across the school.
Staff demonstrate strong collegiality, distributed leadership and teamwork and this maintains the positive ethos for learning and teaching in the school.
Winchburgh Primary has strong partnerships with parent/carers, the local community and outside agencies. The school is committed to developing and maintaining strong multi-agency working relationships to support the learning needs of all pupils and their families.
