Front End Developer - HTML CSS -Agile

My clients are a leading local council based in Kent who are currently at the start of major digital IT transformation project

The transformation programme will be identifying opportunities to improve the user experience of my clients online offer, better meet the needs users and make services more efficient.

They have a roadmap of priorities and will be looking to improve the end to end customer journey for each area, from initial customer contact through to Back End systems and processes.

My client are looking for experienced front and Back End developers who can quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of content designers, user researchers and service designers.

You will use Agile project management methodology to design, create and deliver new websites and products.

Specialist skills and expertise

Essential

Detailed understanding and experience of Front End web development (HTML/CSS/JS) and/or experience in building Server Side web applications and detailed knowledge of at least one programming language.
Understanding and experience of responsive web design
Experience building websites in Umbraco
An ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Experience working on technical projects within a team
Knowledge of the use of version control systems such as subversion or git
Ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques
Experience of working in an Agile project management environment

Desirable
Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems
System administration and configuration management skills
Experience presenting work at user groups and/or conferences
Experience of building and scaling high-traffic websites
Experience of working with JavaScript libraries to produce data visualizations
Experience of designing and maintaining public HTTP APIs
