Content Designer - HTML CSS
Spring Technology's client, a unitary authority in Kent, is undergoing a huge digital transformation programme. The will be identifying opportunities to improve the user experience of their online offer, better meet the needs of their users and make their services more efficient.
They have a roadmap of priorities and will be looking to improve the end to end customer journey for each area, from initial customer contact through to Back End systems and processes.
The Role: UX Designer
They are looking for experienced digital designers who can quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, service designers and user researchers.
You will use Agile project management techniques to design, create and deliver new websites and products, often working on more than one project at any time.
Our client is adhering to GovUK principles, particularly the Digital Service Standard, to ensure everything they design and create is user focused.

Responsibilities include:
Work as part of a multi-disciplined team to design user focussed and successful online services
Deliver designs that meet their web standards including accessibility, ensuring that key standards are met from the outset
Contributing to the development and continual enhancement of products
Partnering with colleagues to create a consistent user experience
Building relationships and working effectively with staff and external providers. Sharing your expertise of how design decisions impact accessibility both internally and externally
Communicating confidently with the wider digital team and organisation
Your skills and experience will include:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in design or similar, have a love of the web and its possibilities, a passion for design and a clear understanding of how to use design to provide good user experience.
Demonstrate expertise designing ideal customer journeys to support customers to transact with the company online
Demonstrate expertise designing interactions professionally for the web and mobile devices
Solid experience of web and mobile-responsive design, designing 'mobile first'. Core skills: sketching, design production, hand-coded HTML & CSS, rapid prototyping
Experience working within an Agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team
Part of your role will be to set direction so you will also be responsible for:

Effectively gathering, use and share customer insight and views from a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure better decision making and delivery
Spotting warning signs of things going wrong and provide a decisive response to significant delivery challenges
Interpreting customer insight and identify reasonable conclusions and opportunities
Pushing decision making to the right level within the team, not allowing unnecessary bureaucracy and structure to suppress innovation and delivery
