NOC Shift Engineer
My client, based in Newport, is looking for a NOC Shift Engineer to join their expanding team based in the Network Operation Centre.
Your main responsibilities will include:
*To provide remote technical support to customers by proactively or reactively monitoring equipment.
*Fault handling & Service Desk (identifying and responding to faults on the NOC systems and networks, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, handling faults through to resolution).
*To interpret and troubleshoot faults, and escalate appropriately to ensure swift resolution of faults and restoration of services on customer's networks.
*To assign resource to First Line Maintenance field support as required to ensure all SLA's are maintained.
*To provide a first-class customer service experience for customers internally & externally.
*To ensure customers are kept informed of incident progress throughout the ticket life cycle.
*Fault handling: Identifying and responding to faults on the NOC systems and networks, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, handling faults through to resolution; adhering to SLA (Service Level Agreements) measurements as per customer contracts.
They are looking for someone with the following:
*Proven track record of excellent customer service skills
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Previous helpdesk experience
*Desire and motivation to learn and ability to advance skill level
*Analytical problem solver; strong attention to detail
*Flexibility and ability to work on own initiative
*Ability to remain calm under pressure
*PC literate. Windows experience.
*Ability to build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally
*Trustworthy and honest.
*Team leadership qualities
*Report writing and procedural skills
*Safety, Health & Environmental and Quality
*Proven Customer Interface skills from experience in similar environment
*Experienced in monitoring and network management of customer networks.
*Holds Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification
It is also desirable if you have an Engineering qualifications, HNC/HND or higher in relevant discipline or relevant field experience.
The hours of work are as follows:
4 shifts on:
2 days (08:00 - 18:00)
2 nights (18.00 -08.00)
4 shifts off
In addition, you will be rewarded with an annual salary of GBP17,000 - GBP23,000 (depending on experience) plus a competitive bonus package.
