General Job Description:



Candidate is primarily responsible for Mainframe automation administration, research, troubleshooting of automation related issues, and conflicts and full lifecycle management of all automation support related customer requests including notification of critical changes to 24x7 operations teams.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

Primary Skills:

• 5-10 years experience working with mainframe automation software/tools

Key skills required:

• 5 - 7 years experience working in mainframe operations
• 4 - 10 years experience working in systems programming especially in (1) Automation, (2) several programming languages, and (3) monitoring and alerting tools.
• Proficient in REXX, JCL, SQL, other programming languages
• In-depth experience working with 2 or more of the following mainframe automation tools
• Tivoli SA for z/OS
• Netview
• OPSMVS
• AF/Operator
• Control-O
• Experience working with monitoring/alerting software
• Automation Point
• System Automation for Integrated Operations (AF/Remote)
• BMC MainView Console Management (IOConcepts)
Secondary Skills:
• Knowledge and experience with Disaster Recovery drills is required
• Knowledge and experience with z/OS upgrade is required
• Knowledge and experience with interfacing tools
Certifications:
• IBM Certification (optional)
• CA Certification (optional)

ROLES and Responsibilities:

• Candidate is primarily responsible for Mainframe automation administration, research, troubleshooting of automation related issues, and conflicts and full lifecycle management of all automation support related customer requests including notification of critical changes to 24x7 operations teams.
• Serves as on-call escalation for automation issues and support to level 1 monitoring teams as required.
• Ownership of a request or incident from its start to successful completion or resolution.
• Must be able to multi-task in a high production time critical environment.
• Support for Mainframe automation tool(s) including creating/maintaining routines, converting manual processes, following change management process.
• Handle problems via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
