WA Consultants require a service team leader to manage the successful delivery of support services to new and existing Oil & Gas customers.

Working closely with the account manager, the service team leader is responsible for delivering their allocated projects, ensuring they are completed on time, to budget and to the expected quality requirements.

The Service Team Leader has direct management responsibilities for a team of senior service engineers and service engineers, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and that company policies are adhered to.

  • The Service Team Leader is responsible for providing support in establishing best practice, providing suggestions of improvements to the current processes, practices and methods, and looking for opportunities to improve.
  • Management and delivery of assigned projects in line with company processes and procedures with a clear understanding of project and contractual requirements.
  • Accountable for performance of allocated projects ensuring that 'as sold' margins are delivered upon, and that services supplied meet contractual requirements and customer expectations.
  • Manage a forward load for projects, ensuring that resources are utilised effectively and that any challenges are brought to the attention of management without delay.
  • Develop, execute and maintain project plans and statements of work, detailing task descriptions, deliverables, and project schedules in line with company processes.
  • Define, communicate, execute & monitor the project. Prioritise work across multiple contracts and projects taking into account contract requirements and availability of resources. Issue and co-ordinate work packages; organise and facilitate reviews with team and track progress, issues and exceptions.
  • Risks, issues and opportunity management; ensuring logs/registers are established and maintained through the life of the assigned project with a high level of accuracy. Organise and facilitate regular risk reviews with risk owners and track mitigation actions.
  • Report on project performance in line with company processes. This includes formal monthly project review and KPI review meetings.
  • Provide a focus for customer communication and liaison, keeping them informed of work progress, issues and resolution plans. Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained at all times. Manage customer expectations in-line with company priorities and capabilities.
  • Identify and pursue follow-on business opportunities, working closely with the Account Manager. Produce quotations for additional project work as required in line with company bid management processes.
  • To attend, chair, or present at various forums (such as project meetings, progress and contract reviews). Ensure that all communications to stakeholders, verbal and written are clear, concise and unambiguous.
  • Management of the 24/7 on-call engineer rota, ensuring that required service levels are maintained at all times. This includes the coordination of on-call engineers and a third party call handling provider.
  • Act as technical lead for the Aberdeen team and as technical interface with other areas of the business such as development, production and projects.
  • Direct line management responsibilities for a team of Senior Service Engineers and Service Engineers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all service engineers receive the right training and are deemed competent to complete their roles in a safe, efficient and professional manner in line with contractual obligations.
  • Continuously improve performance in the area of service delivery to improve efficiency or the quality of services delivered.

Experience required:

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing and delivering multi-disciplined projects.
  • Experience managing personnel and leading a team.
  • Experienced in report writing and offshore project documentation systems.
  • Experience of organising, planning, controlling and monitoring skills are essential, as is the ability to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Competent in the creation and maintenance of project schedules including identification of activities and milestones and their logical dependencies
  • A strong and varied background in budgeting/cost management with proven commercial/technical astuteness and demonstrable good judgment.

Desirable

  • Leading a team in an offshore oil and gas or customer facing service industry would be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong commercial awareness and effective negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing processes. Not afraid to challenge the way it is done to support continual improvement
  • Experience of Systems/Electronic engineering related projects or functions.
  • Experience working within the Oil & Gas Service sector.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree level or equivalent (HNC/HND) in electrical/electronic engineering or related discipline (IT/Telecomms etc.)
  • Project management qualification ie APM/Prince 2.
  • Although office based, the candidate will be expected occasionally to travel within the UK and overseas. A clean driving license is therefore essential
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance

  • Formal Leadership or Management Qualification
  • Offshore Certified - BOSIET/FOET, Medical and MIST
  • COMPEX
  • Working at height qualifications

This role would ideally suit an experienced team leader/supervisor with experience of offshore working practices.
