Our client is a global leader in metal recycling employing 4500 staff across 170 locations around the world. They are committed to Health, Safety and Environmental; with their growing HSE department providing invaluable support and expertise to the company’s Operations. The Environmental function provides a high level service, by ensuring compliance with legislation and meeting company objectives through effective planning, risk assessment and audits.
The role will require you to assist in delivering regulatory liaison and permit compliance, environmental risk assessment, monitoring and auditing of standards on site, investigation of incidents and the provision of performance reporting data. Working closely with the Environmental Manager, you will monitor performance across our client’s Midlands sites and down to the South West, so moderate travel will be required.
You will be looking to develop your career in a dynamic and fast moving environment, will already hold a degree or equivalent in an environmental management based subject, and have some relevant experience of current UK wide waste regulatory requirements. In addition, any experience in environmental noise, water quality and community liaison would be advantageous.
You will also be confident and compelling in your communication skills, have a passion for the training and education of staff in all environmental matters, and have well developed IT and document organisation skills.
A full UK driving licence will be required.
