Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist - Community Band 7
Camden, North London

Opportunity has arisen for an innovative and enthusiastic nurse to join our high performing, award winning multidisciplinary Camden, Islington ELiPSe and UCLH & HCA (Health Care America) Palliative Care Service.

The Service delivers integrated Specialist Palliative Care expertise to the communities of South Camden, North East Westminster, and Islington and the following hospitals: UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, Harley Street at UCLH, The Harley Street Clinic and the Princess Grace Hospital. We operate a 24 hour on call service and the successful applicant will be expected to join this rota.

We are looking for nurses who would like to develop a palliative care career in this thriving practice with a long tradition of ‘can do’.

You will need to have:

  • Resilience, clear motivation for professional development, ability to work innovatively and utilise the evidence base in palliative care
  • An advanced toolkit of clinical skills combined with ability to work with warmth, friendliness and compassion for patients and families
  • Strong networking skills and proven ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people in complex situations to provide leadership

We offer excellent training and development opportunities, a range of family friendly policies, an interest free season ticket loan and subsidised sports facilities. This post involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults and so the successful candidate will be required to apply for CRB disclosure.

This post is considered to be business critical for the Trust, and therefore if appointees need to change residence to be closer to the work base for the post CNWL will provide financial support. This will support the cost of relocating such as rental down payments, up to three months rent, moving contents, house sale and travel etc.

This is available to new employees joining the Trust, or existing CNWL employees who accept a post and have to relocate.
