Construction Team Member - Kidderminster

Reports to: Construction Manager

Based: Kidderminster, and throughout the UK at various Go Ape sites

Salary: GBP18,200 per annum

Hours of work: Average 40 hours per week

Holidays: 25 Days plus 8 bank holidays


The construction team member's role is to assist in successfully setting up groundwork at new sites within tight timeframes. This role involves physical work and long hours working in the outdoors in often challenging environments.

You will be required to spend a lot of time working away from home and travelling, as most of your work will be at one of our locations across the UK.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:


Carrying out Go Ape course maintenance and construction as directed by the Go Ape Construction Manager.
Carrying out the necessary preparation for Go Ape course maintenance and construction as directed by the Go Ape Construction Manager.
Assisting in the sourcing, collection and delivery of all material necessary for construction work.
Assisting in the safe operation of Go Ape construction in accordance with company operating procedures and training including:
Complying with all Health and Safety procedures, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Operating in a safe working manner at all times
Assisting with Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required.
Applying first aid when necessary appropriate to your skill level and reporting and recording all accidents and near misses correctly.

On site administration including:

Taking receipt of deliveries to the work site.
Completing all equipment, PPE and vehicle logs according to company policy.

Work Site

Carrying out all necessary work site and equipment checks during the day and recording any findings.
Inspecting site (PPE) and safety equipment, ensuring it is in good order and ensuring it is correctly serviced and reporting all faults where found.
Maintaining Go Ape tools, equipment, vehicles, site and cabin in good, clean and serviceable order.
Recording serviceability of the above and notifying the Construction Manager

Other Tasks and Responsibilities

Building and maintaining good working relationship with key parties
Landowner's representatives, Go Ape personnel, Altus & other construction personnel, customers, members of the public, accommodation hosts, insurers, course inspectors and the press.
Attending meetings and training in the UK as required.

Person Specification

Valid First Aid Certificate
Previous construction experience
Clean driving licence
Carpentry and DIY skills
Must be a team player
Must have a good head for heights
Must enjoy working in the outdoors
