Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Support Officer -
The core purpose of the role is to enable greater operational effectiveness across South West police forces by supporting and optimising the technical transition from Airwave to the new Emergency Service Network, while seeking opportunities for the regional alignment of enabling technology
Main Responsibilities
??? Provide a wide range of support for the South West Police Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme (ESMCP) by mapping existing processes, supporting core transition requirements and developing opportunities for potential alignment across South West police and sister emergency services and organisations.
??? Engage with partners to analyse, design and support the development of infrastructure and applications that meet national and regional requirements.
??? Once infrastructure and applications are designed, support the transition to the new emergency services network, including the installation, configuration, tuning and acceptance testing of the new enabling technology to national and regional performance standards.
??? Be involved in all elements of the lifecycle from inception until customer sign off and be involved in the analysis, design and creation of processes and solutions, working within or acting as the technical support for all South West ESMCP projects.
??? Working within the South West ESN Programme and associated projects, develop and implement solutions which enable cohesion with the overall design and architecture of the project.
??? Work and advise on an agreed range of performance outcomes, proactively recommending service improvement measures and opportunities for the alignment of mobile communications technology, ensuring their implementation and undertaking active review. Recommend developmental or remedial actions according to delegated powers in response to review or business feedback.
??? Ensure that ESN enabling technology operates to professional standards of quality and performance in terms of stability, availability, security, responsiveness and capacity and supports the integration and compliance of technology within Forces.
??? Provide technical advice and guidance to the ESMCP Programme team, ensurig that any technical risks or restrictions are identified and brought to the attention of the Programme Delivery Manager, with the ability to propose suitable advice, responses and initiate retrieval actions.
??? Develop maintain collaborative working within the South West Police Collaboration Programme.
??? Work closely with ESMCP projects to provide advice and guidance on measures to ensure the integrity of relevant applications and infrastructure.
??? Work within a designated team and across virtual teams as necessary
