Quality Engineer - Gloucester
A Quality Engineer is required by our client, a leading global MRO based in Gloucester.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing collaborative technical, supervision and consultation services to the operational, design, engineering and quality departments.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Undertaking both internal and external audits and providing precise timely reports
- Identifying, tracking and resolving of all quality problems
- Providing technical liaison and support to all departments within the business.
- Assisting with the interaction of all customer complaints to provide ongoing communication with timely involvement, review and action to address these issues
- Reviewing approved maintenance data and specifications to ensure quality and reliability requirements are addressed
- Providing training to personnel when required
- Communicating with senior and middle management and coordinating with all department in order to resolve any quality concerns
- Performing customer surveys and assisting with supplier audits and evaluations
- Assisting the Quality Manager in developing and implementing the Quality Management System
- Participating in customer purchase orders and subcontract reviews
Skills and Qualifications of the Quality Engineer will include:
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within an aerospace/AS9001 environment
- Proactive approach to engaging with all stakeholders
- Lean skills and experience such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S
- Experience of managing internal teams
- Strong statistical, analytical skills
- Experience of dealing with regulatory authorities is essential
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels and challenge the norm where required
- HNC/Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- EASA Part 145, 21, FAA 145 auditor
