My client is a leading provider of road construction and maintenance in the UK. Their business offers a range of services, from highway maintenance and surfacing through to cementitious pavements, road planning, street lighting, traffic management and winter maintenance.
They are looking for a key addition to their commercial team. Working alongside an established team of 5 other Quantity Surveyors, you will take control of a portfolio of c??10m of work.
As Quantity Surveyor your work will involve:
???Overseeing the measurement and preparation of valuations.
???To support the preparation of monthly valuations and financial accounts in readiness for invoicing customers.
???Record, monitor and review the financial performance of contracts.
???Secure payments from customers within the specified contract terms and manage payment of subcontractors.
???Pricing and agreement of highway maintenance schemes Target Costs.
???Administration of highway maintenance schemes in conjunction with operational teams including Early Warning notification and the pricing and agreement of Compensation Events.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the highways industry. You will have excellent negotiation skills and good problem solving techniques. You will have a good awareness of safety, health and environmental compliance.
