Senior Finance Analyst

Summary of Role
The role is part of the Airborne Solutions Finance Team. The main focus of the role is providing high quality business partnering and accurate financial analysis to the ASTOR programme team. This includes tracking results against forecast and AOP, cost management of the overall programme, maintenance of financial reports, quarterly EAC production and guidance, attending Programme and Gate Reviews and ad-hoc financial analysis and driving value for money for our customer.

Main Duties
Provide day-to-day financial support to wider ASTOR IPT
Support the quarterly EAC process and champion best practice
Maintain and develop reporting in SAP, BW and Cognos for the ASTOR programme
Compiling, agreeing and disseminating financial targets and forecasts to Programme Managers to ensure forecasts are collaborative, understood and agreed prior to formal submission
Champion best practice and look to improve systems and processes, liaising with the wider Airborne and Defence Finance teams
Support the development of EVMS tool and processes
Other ad-hoc analysis as required by the business and wider finance teams
Act as the financial conscience of the business, playing devil's advocate as required and looking to provide innovative solutions to financial problems
Ad-hoc support to the ASTOR extension
Some travel will be required (UK mainly)

Candidate Requirements

Degree or equivalent in a business or finance related discipline
CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist
Commercial & Business Acumen
Good Analytical skills
Pro-active, "hands-on" approach
Desire to go that "extra mile" to deliver
Desire to understand key business drivers
Ability to explain complex financial matters to the lay person in a compelling manner

Experience of SAP and IBM Cognos
Experience hedging foreign currency
MOD Contract experience
Resilience to work in a fast-paced, changing Organization
Experience in working in a Matrix Organization
Experience in complex project environment
Experience in manufacturing and/or Aerospace
