You may or may not know, but billions of money transactions a year are made using our payments processes, whether via a card machine or online. Our systems enable our customers, whether large or small, to process their customer's payments, so they can grow their business. This could be your local supermarket where you do your weekly shop or favourite airline when you book tickets to New York.

As a Payments Controller you will responsible for preparing, checking and releasing these payments to our customers domestically and globally. The Payments Controller will be responsible for the payment/settlement of Merchant and consumer payments in numerous currencies from many Global bank accounts. Undertake exception processes including manual ad- hoc payments.

Prepare, check and release Merchant and consumer payments in numerous currencies using various payment methods.

Acquire specialist knowledge to provide accurate advice and information to both internal and external sources in a timely and professional manner, taking full ownership through to resolution.

Prioritise workload effectively throughout the day to ensure all cut-offs and SLA's are adhered to

Work as part of the team to ensure daily objectives are met

Continually look for way of improving efficiencies, providing potential solutions and follow through to implementation.

Ad-hoc tasks as requested by Financial Business Services Leadership team

A high level of analytical skills and attention to detail.

Must be able to work in a fast moving, challenging environment - must be highly motivated and able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines.

Ability to look beyond the numbers to identify issues and anomalies.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel

Ideally, experience of working within a high volume transaction processing environment
