Estates Manager - Facilities Management Healthcare Max GBP55k London/South East

Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP55,000 plus discretionary bonus & benefits

Location: Home-based south of Birmingham. Main client site is Barnet, North London.


A leading UK provider of FM support services requires a facilities management professional for their healthcare infrastructure division. They are seeking an Estates Manager whose FM experience includes hard FM and healthcare to assist them with estates management for a healthcare property portfolio in London and the South East. The position is home-based with travel to client sites in the south of England as necessary.


The essential experience required for this role is as follows:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Facilities Management Estates Management, at least some of which should have included Hard FM
  • Experience in Public Sector Healthcare
  • Experience of delivering services within the constraints of budget, quality and time
  • Client-facing experience: Previous experience liaising interpersonally with clients (either external or internal)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Mobile: Working away from home periodically.

The crux of the role will be supporting a CCG of health centres in Barnet in actively managing their estate portfolio in terms of filling buildings, ensuring buildings are fit for purpose, liaising with service providers from an FM perspective.

You would be part of the Senior Management team of the CCG to help develop their estate strategy, working across the CCG, NHS PS and CHP, consulting with the client regarding utilisation of the buildings and participating in the organisation and execution of management to allocate resource appropriately across the estates.


This is a fantastic role in which to be joining this organisation, because you will gain exposure to FM management, health planning and estate performance management. All these will be matrixed through, so you will either be performing these yourself or participating via the service lead from those disciplines. Consequently, this is a great opportunity for someone to gain a good grounding in project management and client interface.

As regards further prospects from this position, the career path from here would be to move up to take on a regional role or a larger client base.
