LOCATION: Totternhoe near Dunstable, Bedfordshire
JOB TITLE: Finance Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS: circa GBP18,000 - GBP21,000 dependent on skills and experience
WORKING HOURS: Part Time
THE COMPANY: Our client operate a lower school situated in Totternhoe located between Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard with Good OFSTED rating and exciting plans for the future. THE ROLE: A new exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic finance manager who is ready for the challenge of helping the school's transition in becoming an Academy. You will be responsible for all aspects of the school's finances including fee billing, credit control, salaries & pensions, purchasing, invoice payments, banking, cash flow as well as budgetary control and management. You will also prepare management accounts and liaise with the schools auditors and the finance team in producing the annual statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities for the Finance Manager's role in Totternhoe near Dunstable, Bedfordshire include:
- Responsible for and oversee all aspects of the Schools finance and finance team
- Keep and maintain all school accounts and to prepare income and expenditure accounts, balance sheets and financial returns
- Administer the school's financial systems and procedures
- Paying in of monies for school public funds, raising cheques as required. To manage timely cash collection of all income into school bank accounts
- Monitor and control all school budgets, including all staff salaries and maintain records for budget control

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Finance Managers role must be well educated to GCSE level A* to C in Maths and English or hold equivalent qualifications. It is essential you have a minimum of an NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Accountancy or Bookkeeping and also have 3 years experience working in a financial role also with previous experience of financial management. You should have good communication skills verbal and written, have excellent organisational skills and must have the ability to present information in a logical and clear way. You should be able to manage your workload effectively and supervise others. Although not essential knowledge RM Finance and PSFinancials would be an advantage.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Finance Manager's role in Totternhoe near Dunstable, Bedfordshire :-
- Must be educated to GCSE level A* to C in Maths and English or hold equivalent qualifications
- Must have an NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Accountancy or Bookkeeping as a minimum
- 3 years experience working in a financial role is essential
- Experience managing or supervising a team of staff would be an advantage
