Our client has identified an excellent opportunity for an experienced Development Chemist to join the
world’s largest producer of printing inks and pigments.

Position Summary;
Reporting to the Technical Director, as Chemist you will;
• Assist in the making of ink formulations, testing fineness of grind, ink theology and viscosity, screen printing and other laboratory practices involved in the manufacture of printing ink, sensors and other materials related to the business
• Carry out work on contract research projects, grant aided projects, internal research and development projects and the manufacture of production items
• Help with the general day to day running of the laboratory areas

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will hold the required experience and skills to undertake this role, including;

• Qualified or proven experience or to a degree/equivalent in a Chemistry related subject
• Good laboratory techniques, sound knowledge of weight and measures/basic math
• Excellent laboratory practice in addition to good lab book keeping
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and scientific statistical analysis
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Preferred but not essential skills include ; familiarity with screen printing machines, rheology equipment, bead mills and roll mills, industrial chemistry experience
