Credit Control Administrator

An opportunity has arisen for a Credit Control Administrator to join the Sterling Group, which is one of the longest established contractor organisations in the UK.

Our primary business is the sub-contracting of employees employed through the Sterling Umbrella route within the construction industry as well as giving contractors the option to work through our self-employed route.

We are currently looking for a Credit Control Administrator to join our Warrington based team.

Reporting to the Credit Control Supervisor, the Credit Control Administrator will focus their role on Credit Control and working alongside the Credit Control Supervisor to reduce the level of debtors, maintaining debtors and working with the Group Management Accountant to ensure the financial controls of the Group are maintained.

Key Tasks involved by the Credit Control Administrator

- Daily bank reconciliation

- Processing Bacs, Faster Payments & International Payments

- Assist the payroll department by creating receipts for contractor payments

- Investigate and log new overpayments keeping an accurate log of all activity and making sure our clients are kept up to date on the progress

- Chase all outstanding debt, negotiate repayment plans and take payments via streamline, internet and direct debit

- Maximise cash collection, minimise bad debt and ensure the monthly KPI targets are met

- Trace debtors using Tracesmart

- Instigate legal action to collect monies owed if necessary

- Posting Customer Receipts to accounts - Bacs/Chqs/DD

- Perform credit checks and assess credit limits as and when required

- Process agency refunds

- Process advance payments to contractors

- Chase all outstanding advance payments and VAT, maintaining close and effective links with the clients, dealing with queries and ensuring payments are made on time

Credit Control Administrator person specification

- Previous experience working within a finance environment

- Experience of using Microsoft office and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Proven experience in a fast paced, pressurised role

- Ability to be assertive and confident when speaking to contractors and agencies but remaining professional

- Ability to work to deadlines

- Able to work under your own initiative

Salary: £16,000 per annum

Hours of Work: 38.5hrs, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 17.00pm with regular late shifts until 18.00pm
