Job description

The Business Development Manager opening is a pivotal role for a high net worth individual based in Liverpool.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company owner with day to day management of both their business and personal matters, in a demanding fast paced environment.  The successful candidate will handle highly confidential materials and will be responsible for the scheduling and structure of the employer’s private, social and business calendars and maintaining daily itineraries. They will also play an important part in the individual’s business ventures, primarily in the owner’s fashion and music businesses; in addition they will manage the companies and individuals social media.  

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage the budgets of two new and rapidly growing fashion and music businesses
  • Create and implement a business plan for soon to be launched fashion brand and record label
  • To create and execute social media strategies for both businesses and the owner personally
  • To lead new business development across the music and fashion companies, including inspiring new commercially viable products
  • Manage the owners businesses and personal life utilizing creative time management skills
  • Assisting with the generic development with both businesses
  • Regularly communicate and interact with high level Spanish, Portuguese, American and English suppliers and customers
  • Deal with highly private and confidential matters
  • Travel with the owner often at a moment's notice; prepare all travel arrangements, manage and attend all meetings

    Person Specification

    o     Experience and an exceptional knowledge of both the music and fashion  industries, especially  the European and American markets
  • Educated to degree level
  • Proven business skills, including managing budgets, marketing plans and business plans, ideally from inception
  • Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish (and a commitment to learn Chinese)
  • Previous experience supporting a CEO or Chairman
  • Experience  in working long, unpredictable hours, weekends and availability to be on-call at any time
  • Experience in managing and executing social media strategies on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Experience in working and dealing with the media
  • Superior judgment with confidential materials / topics
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; articulate and well spoken
  • Aptitude to work well in a fast-paced, high pressured environment
  • Proven track record of entrepreneurial and creative spirit
  • Problem solver and great customer facing communication skills
  • Track record of working well in a team
  • Knowledge of the restaurant industry would be an advantage (the owner is looking to open a restaurant in 2017)
  • Ability to use  Mac OS X and PC platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
