£24,717 per annum (with the potential to earn up to £29,854)
This is an exciting time in Wellingborough and we are determined to meet financial challenges head-on, by introducing new initiatives with a more business-focused and commercial approach.
Reporting directly to the Accountancy Team Leader, you will be expected to contribute to delivering many of the council's core financial processes, as well as providing financial advice to Councillors, senior officers and service managers. You will ensure the efficient and effective stewardship of assets and resources by supporting budget holders, and cost centre managers, with revenue and capital financial information; assist in the compilation of the council's annual statement of accounts and related audit, as well as other related returns.
You will need to have an Accounting Technician qualification (or equivalent) or relevant equivalent experience, our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a public sector finance capacity. In addition you will have a sound knowledge of financial systems and an understanding of local government finance.
