Overall Purpose of Role

This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving team to deliver KYC/AML regulatory objectives whilst delivering a first class service to stakeholders and customers alike. This role provides the opportunity to work in partnership with other Barclays Corporate teams as well as our wider business functions (Investment Bank, Barclays Wealth and Retail Business Bank - both in the UK and globally).

As a specialist member of the KYC (Know Your Customer) Quality Control team you will be responsible for performing comprehensive quality control checks for all Corporate Clients in accordance with the Bank's guidelines and in compliance with UK & global financial regulations. It is the QC Managers responsibility to provide high value, business critical KYC technical support to the Corporate Bank teams whilst, providing an enthusiastic approach to KYC and delivering on personal and team objectives. It is also the responsibility of the QC Manager to carry out regular and effective control checks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Complete comprehensive quality reviews of KYC due diligence for On boarding/Refresh KYC teams including new business, refresh and mandates
  • Interpretation of AML policy into KYC Operational procedures and fulfilment of monitoring and maintenance of KYC framework standards.
  • Build effective relationships with Kyc managers and interact professionally with internal clients and key stakeholders to deliver excellent service
  • Identify and support the effective resolution of identified KYC deficiencies
  • Provide training and coaching support in KYC/QC methodology to increase knowledge/awareness
  • Support testing and implementing of existing and new controls and checks for KYC Operation teams
  • Ownership and management of quality MI metrics
  • Drive "Case Re-Work" performance and provide feedback to support maintain and improving standards.
  • Drive performance through detailed analysis of MI, making recommendations and offering solutions to create an enhanced and highly effective Operational process

Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

  • Technical skills and knowledge ( Excellent understanding of KYC )
  • Good understanding of Regulatory environment (IFRS12, Micro Enterprise, Immigration Bill etc)
  • Practical experience in fulfilment of Controls and Checks
  • Excellent Attention to detail, investigation and judgement skills
  • Ability to challenge - in the right way
  • Understanding of a Control environment and maintaining a Quality Control framework
  • Stakeholder/Relationship Management
  • Supportive of people development. Coaching Training skills.
  • Strong oral and effective written communications skills

  • Good level of practical experience in managing/maintaining Excel and Access based records, and analysis of high volumes of data
  • Proven ability to make decisions using own initiative and without guidance
  • Ability to contribute effectively when working with colleagues at more senior levels across KYC both verbally and written
