Our Client is a leading national provider of retirement housing and care services for older people, mainly those aged 65 and above. They are a not-for-profit organisation and operate in over 150 local authority areas – managing around 19,000 Retirement and Extra Care apartments and providing over 80,000 hours of care each week to more than 31,000 customers. They deliver affordable, contemporary, person-centred care and housing that meets individual needs, improves wellbeing and promotes independent living.
They now have exciting opportunities for Care Assistants to join them based in Harpenden where you will be part of an enthusiastic team, providing independent living to service users in their own accommodation. These roles are on their flexicare scheme which involves supporting people living independently within a complex.
Providing practical assistance and personal care you will help with household and domestic tasks, assist with personal needs, and make meals and snacks where needed.
They are looking for dependent and dedicated people who have care experience, or a desire to train as a care worker. No previous experience is necessary – all you need is excellent communication skills and a passion to help the elderly.
Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and your own transport would be beneficial (but not essential as they have some roles for non-drivers). The positions involve working shifts: 7am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 5pm – 10pm, and includes working at least every other weekend.
