Safehands Recruitment is recruiting for a Deputy Manager with Children based in Gloucester working for one of our most prestigious clients. This is a full time, permanent vacancy paying up to ??23,000- ??26,000 per year dependant on experience. Responsibilities of Deputy Manager: ??? Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing environment for the children to be able to respond to therapeutic practices, develop life skills and build relationships??? Assisting the Registered Manager in maintaining the high standards within the Ofsted guidelines and company policies??? Act as a lynchpin between the Registered Manager and Support team to ensure each placement is successful from start to finish, to ensure any changes are communicated within the team and ensuring the businesses goals for individuals are being worked towards by the Support team??? Allocate and support the designated Key Worker to support the child to set and achieve realisic targets and ensure there are regular formal and informal consultations with all the children??? Working closely with the Senior Therapeutic Care Workers ensuring effective shift planning and handovers take place and a consistent care approach is being delivered across the home??? Leading the therapeutic care team through clear guidance including team meetings, training, providing coaching and feedback, contributing to appraisals and supervisions and managing performance??? Plan and manage staff rotas effectively taking into account an appropriate mix of skills and experience on each shift??? Dealing with last minute shift cover including liaising with other care homes and agencies??? Coordinate and support the induction and training of new staff members including liaising with HR Team along with acting as an appropriate mentor??? Oversee the house keeping maintenance and ensure the general up of the home is maintained??? Oversee the planning of activities within the home, ensuring they are compatiable with staff rotas, person centred plans, budgets and risk assessments??? Monitor all aspects of record keeping, ensuring all required documentation is maintained??? Manage the homes budget??? Working closely with the Registered Manager to conduct internal and external inspections and follow up an actions??? Promote and support personal, continuous development of staff and children including training records and organising refresher training??? Stepping up in the absence of the Registered Manager and managing all aspects of the home/ business and undertake on-call duties Person Specification for Deputy Manager: ??? A strong understanding of Ofsted requirements within a residential setting??? 2 years experience of leading a multi- disciplinary team in a more senior capacity??? Experience of working with children within a residential setting??? Minimum of NVQ/ National Diploma level3 in Children and Young People??? A driver is essential due to the location of the business and requirements of the role??? Strong communication skills written and verbal???
