My client based in Gloucestershire is looking for a Project Manager from an Electronic Warfare background for a 6 month rolling contract.Main Duties of this Position* A strong track record of delivering successful projects in an Electronic Warfareenvironment* Plan, specify and maintain the products and systems and /or the projects in linewith EW's strategic plan/roadmap ensuring benefits align, including BusinessCase generation* To be accountable for revenue and gross margin achievement on customerfunded projects, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered andrealised benefits as the projects progress* Plan the projects and monitor its overall progress, manage risks, resolve issuesand initiate corrective action as appropriate to ensure projects are executed withinthe agreed schedule, cost and performance, in a professional projectmanagement manner and working closely with Engineering leads* Pro-actively contribute and support driving the of strategy and continuousbusiness improvement* Work closely with and provide support to the sales & marketing department tocapture targeted customer funded business in accordance with companyforecasts and plans* Ensure that project deliverables are to the appropriate levels of quality, onschedule, within budget, and in accordance with the project plans* Lead multi-disciplined teams of up to 30 engineering and project managementstaff, ensuring that there is efficient allocation of common resources and skillsacross the projects* Manage third party contributions to the projects, including management of subcontract providers, as appropriate* Report progress of the projects at regular intervals to the Head of ProjectsIn order to be successful within this role it is essential that the right candidate has:* Proven project management experience combined with a proven track record ofsuccessfully delivering to schedule and budget in a similar role.* A sound appreciation of electronics and software applied to equipment andsystems* Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams of over 10people and managing relationships with customers and suppliers* Full project lifecycle experience including the practical and effective use of formalproject and risk management tools and methodologies* Good standard of technical and computer literacy.Whilst not essential, it would be preferable if the perfect candidate has:* Proven ability to identify and support the winning of new customer fundeddevelopment opportunities* Experience of working with UK and overseas Government organisations, andinternational customers* Experience of working with Large Systems Integrators (LSI's)* Experience or preference for delivering high technology products and systems* An honours degree in an appropriate technical subject* A recognised qualification in Project Management* Understanding of manufacturing processes* Understanding of business strategy and market analysis* Working knowledge of Earned Value management* Commercially aware
