The College of Liberal Arts is an exciting new development at Bath Spa University, bringing together 3 of our traditional schools into a new structure enabling the extensive collaboration and the sharing of knowledge across a multitude of disciplines.
About the role
The role of Technical Demonstrator involves providing lecturing staff with assistance during lectures and small group / one to one teaching of the use of technical skills. Operating and maintaining the technical equipment as well as show running, will be key responsibilities. This role predominantly has a lighting focus, although a general knowledge of theatre is also necessary.
About you (requirements)
You will have proven technical experience in industry, especially Lighting and Sound, a proactive approach and strong customer facing attitude. Teaching or demonstrating experience, a keen interest in personal development and working with young people would be of an advantage. You will be keen to learn and collaborate with people from multiple disciplines, including areas outside the normal area of theatrical work. Additionally you will be willing to do occasional evening and weekend work, and to drive the college van (having a full UK driving licence for two years or longer is essential).
