Building Cleaning Services in conjunction with the Governing Body are seeking to employ a Caretaker to join our existing cleaning team.

Stanhope Primary School is an outstanding school. We are committed to high standards and seek to appoint a Caretaker who is eager to work as part of a team to maintain these high standards. There is also the availability for the post holder to occupy the school bungalow which is situated within the school grounds.

The school has a proven track record for delivering high quality education to children and we are therefore seeking to attract a caretaker to maintain the school to a high standard of cleanliness throughout.

The role of caretaker is demanding and you will be expected to deliver the full range of Caretaking, Maintenance, Janitorial and Cleaning duties for both the interior and exterior of the building as laid down by site.

You should have a keen eye for detail and be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of DIY, dealing with contractors and fault identification and work based Health and Safety for both him/herself and others in a workplace environment. It will also be a requirement that electrical cleaning machinery such as buffing machines must be used periodically.

You will be required to work a split shift between the hours of 6am - 8.30am and 3.30pm - 6pm which should be flexible to meet the changing needs of the site.

You will be required to act as one of the main key holders for the site and attend alarm activations as required, for which additional payments will be made, as well as having responsibility for securing the site daily.

The school is committed to protecting the well-being of children and young adults. We follow "Safer Recruiting" procedures when making appointments. This post is therefore subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date: 8 December 2016.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview.  A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
