Student Engagement and Learning Support Mentor - Maternity cover to commence March 2017
Fixed Term for 12 months
Salary: NJC points 22 - 25 (£20,456 - £22,434 - Actual salary £18,801 pa)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Engagement and Learning Support Mentor to deliver and evaluate a range of interventions for students requiring additional support to enable their access to learning.
Working as part of a small team you will help students to develop their potential through class work, group work and 1:1 support. You will assist in the development and delivery of the effectiveness of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for identified students. You will also be a House Mentor responsible for behavior and attendance for your mentees
You will work closely with the relevant House Co-ordinator as well the Director of Disabilities and Special Educational Needs (DSEN) to address the needs of students who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning.
Previous experience of working with or relating well to young people who sometimes exhibit challenging behavior is essential. You will also have a commitment to their welfare, education and personal development.
