Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. There is an opportunity available to join our joint Civil Contingencies Service (CCS) shared by East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire councils. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a number of contingency and business continuity plans, delivering training and exercising to council staff to support these plans. You will also be required to participate in a 24/7 duty rota and respond to potential emergency situations using your expertise and attitude to reassure senior colleagues. Working at a local and national level, you'll liaise with and advise senior colleagues from all four authorities; emergency services; health services as well as other key responders and multi-agency bodies such as the West of Scotland Regional Resilience Partnership. You must have a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate business-related discipline, a good working knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and Contingency Planning (Scotland) Regulations 2005 and Preparing Scotland Guidance. We need a self-motivated individual capable of working under their own initiative with excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills. The ability to prioritise a challenging, varied workload is also crucial. You are required to hold a full driving licence. Recent experience in civil contingencies / emergency planning and experience of project management is desirable. This post is subject to appropriate and successful security vetting.
