Laboratory Scientist x 2 Bourne, Lincolnshire GBP21,000 - GBP25,000 + Benefits + Pension Summary: We are looking for two Scientists to join the Laboratory Testing team of a highly innovative, market leading, privately owned company who are in the process of relocating their operations to the Bourne area. The successful applicant will be degree educated in Chemistry, materials science or similar science based subject and will have experience of working within a laboratory environment - ideally within a UKAS accredited testing laboratory within a commercial organisation, although this is not essential. Equipped with a full range of testing equipment, the laboratory can test textiles, films and fabrics to over 40 European Standards - the majority of tests being UKAS accredited and ISO9001 and ISO17025 compliant - which ensures their products are amongst the best in the market place. The Role: As a Laboratory Scientist you will become a central part of the company's Laboratory Testing team which ensures that the highest levels of product testing services are provided to internal customers within research, new product development, quality control and customer technical support. Reporting into the Laboratory Manager you will develop and conduct chemical and physical UKAS accredited tests on specialist products using a range of mechanical and analytical testing equipment including spectrophotometry and chromatography. You will be an active member of the team, working closely and collaboratively with other team members, assisting and contributing to the review and improvement of testing procedures in line with UKAS requirements. You will also be expected to continually develop your scientific knowledge through your contribution to the company's new product development programmes, taking advantage of all training and development opportunities that are presented to you. You: To succeed in this role you be degree educated in Chemistry, materials science or similar science based subject and will have experience of working within a laboratory environment - ideally within a UKAS accredited testing laboratory within a commercial organisation, although this is not essential. You will have a strong analytical approach and a naturally enquiring mind which will be evidenced by your achievements to date. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to interact across the business and you will be a genuine team player - someone who proactively manages their own workload and helps others manage theirs.
