Product Manager, salary to GBP30k basic plus package including pension, bonus & health insuranceReports To: Senior Product ManagerCentral London- based with occasional UK and Overseas, specifically Asia.My client is a privately owned Manufacturer and Distributor who are looking for a Product Manager to be responsible for their specific range of lighting products. You will be working closely with their sourcing and product development teams as well as Marketing, Operations, Sales and Quality and will be primarily based on projects from concept to launch ensuring that the New Product Development processes and deliverables are adhered to. To be considered for this role, you must be very commercially aware as well as have a proven track record of delivering profitable ranges to market. the ability to work under pressure in a fast moving dynamic environment, results as an individual and within a team and be a confident influencing at all levels. Being an effective communicator, presenter, and team player is essential as is having high levels of diligence, attention to detail and accuracy of work. Product,market and consumer knowledge is also essential as is being constant in seeking out and implementing opportunities for innovation and improvement in the products. Your role will be to: •Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with strategic plans.•Make recommendation for product improvements and value analysis. •Work in a partnership with Asia development & sourcing teams in the specification, evaluation and execution of new products, from initial brief to final packed product (label, packaging, instruction manuals).•Managing the creation of supporting marcom's both internally + externally to ensure appropriate message dissemination.•Maintain an awareness of trends and techniques in industry, undertaking training as appropriate.•Keep on top of competitors, products and practices.•Ability to support the sales force in front of the customer, to secure profitable business.•Work in close liaison with the supply chain team, giving guidance on product sales forecasting for the product category, ensuring inventory remains at acceptable levels. Active management of the product lifecycle, controlling SKU count. •Oversee the maintenance of the intercompany Knowledge Centre' •Implement product strategies to achieve profit objectives, in consultation with senior management team. •Provide front-line product/application support and training to stakeholders. •Plan and implement training to ensure staff develop product and technical knowledge appropriate to role. •Deliver training for end customers.•Participate in the Company performance review/appraisal scheme and in training and development opportunities as appropriate.Person specification Lighting/electrical product development and/or sourcing experience required preferably with Far East development teams.Must be driven to succeed and bring the correct motivation and positive can do attitude to the role.Team-orientated yet able to work independently under minimal supervision.Intuitive and show initiative to move tasks forwardStrong communication skills in written and verbal English.Proactive, take ownership and strives to deliver.Detail-oriented with exceptional organisation skills.Flexible with strong prioritising skills; deadline driven.Identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.Software knowledge:MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OutlookEducational Requirements:Degree in either Marketing or Engineering related discipline, MBA qualification preferred.To discuss this role in confidence call Carla Linsday on
