Chemist - Coatings for Non-Woven / Textiles / Paper - E. Mids

Our client is a highly successful UK based company leading the way for developing innovative processes for the production and commercialization of eco-friendly materials and fabrics. To support the continued growth of the company, a Chemist is required to develop new coating formulations for application in non-woven, textile and paper. Experience of flame retardant chemistry would be of benefit. Key Tasks Formulation, application and testing of new coatings.Improve existing coatings, sourcing new materials and examine new applications for technology.Colour matching to customer specification.Support colour processing and provide improvements to production methods. Candidate profile Ideally qualified with a Degree in Chemistry, Material Science or Polymer Science. Additional qualification in Masters and PhD would be preferred.Several years working in the industry in the development of coatings, paints, inks or adhesives is essential.Knowledge of flame retardant chemistry would be of benefit.Colour matching and process improvement experience would be advantageous.Able to manage projects and be an effective contributor to multidiscipline teams.Excellent communication skills with fluent written and spoken English.
